doUKnowMe? 2008  知道我什么吗？

These performance pieces were made as a rant against pigeonholing people, a rant against demographics, a kind of word play on the classic market research question "what do you want".  I wrote it and asked my actors to improvise on this dual meaning, both deep, philiosophical and existential, and totally mundane and material to highlight how you cannot really know people my their material habits.  It is also meant to be a comment on materialism and a call to define yourself as more than what you consume.

doUkKnowMe? was designed to play in  elevator screens to address the people in the elevators, to surprise them out of a passive relationship with advertising.  when it played in office buildings in Guangzhou for one month, it created a huge amount of buzz and traffic in the building.
